What is SailGP?
Created in 2019, the SailGP is an international competition featuring high performance F50 catamarans vying for supremacy. Originally, it included just 5 events, but now, in 2023, 12 challenges await sailors in famous locations such as Los Angeles, Auckland and, of course, Saint-Tropez. For a weekend, identical F50 catamarans, packed with technological innovations, challenge each other in short, intense and spectacular regattas. The French crew recently broke the speed record, coming close to 54 knots in the race. That’s almost 100 km / h!

The Gulf of Saint-Tropez lends itself admirably to regattas and sailing competitions as it’s a natural setting where it’s easy and pleasurable to watch the action unfold. For the SailGP, the breakwater will be open to spectators, who will also benefit from a grandstand and a VIP area with catering. To experience the races as up close as possible, you can board a boat and go within the exclusion zone if you have the appropriate pass. Then, you can watch the action just 50 metres from the catamarans.
